© JGL – The Maverick County Commissioners Court approved to purchase a property which will house its probation department in the near future.
The purchase was approved at a meeting held on Thursday, September 24 and will cost approximately $300,000.
The property in question is located at 1152 Ferry St. and is owned by Tres Pobres LTD.
The purchase and obtaining of the building will save the county approximately $400,000 a year in rent.
Maverick County is currently planning several capital improvement projects which includes the Maverick County Lake Amphitheater, tax offices, Street paving projects, Adult Probation Department building and other projects as well.
This is to be done through certificates of obligation not to exceed $6,000,000. This will not require an ad valorem tax increase.
