Commercial traffic will be rerouted to Loop 480

Starting Friday the City of Eagle Pass will divert all commercial traffic headed towards Mexico through Loop 480.

Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes explained that the process is being done to expedite commercial crossings due to delays caused by the COVID-19 Virus including health checks at the Piedras Negras Port of Entry.

The City will continue to monitor the situation and have moved to end long wait times to cross into Mexico non-commercial traffic as well.

Long lines into Mexico have been forming despite a huge hit on non-essential travel into the United States due to restrictions measures set in place by the Federal Government.
