Ten new cases reported as we begin Week 2 of Texas reopening

Ten new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the most recent update this Sunday evening.

This brings the total cases to 41 cases and 30 active cases in Maverick County as there have been 11 recoveries as well.

As previously reported there were a total of 6 families with multiple cases as well as a recent couple that tested positive that had multiple interactions with friends and relatives.

One other case traveled from San Antonio to Eagle Pass to visit family and tested positive, this person should be in quarantine unless they interacted with family which could now increase potential positive cases.

While locally some citizens are still heeding warnings by social distancing, wearing masks, staying home and frequently washing hands a good majority have decided to forgo all or some safety protocols.

The Governor of Texas Greg Abbott stated in an interview about whether he would also go to restaurants after the reopening, “It’s not on my list yet. I’m going to talk to my wife about it and see if we can,” he stated. “I don’t know if we’d be able to get in. We’ll see what the crowds look like.”
