Female subject arrested for DWI and child endangerment

A 35-year-old female identified as Jessica Gwendolyn Muñiz was arrested by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department for Driving While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment on Monday, May 4th.

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that deputies responded to an area along U.S. Highway E 277 headed to Carrizo Springs regarding a single vehicle accident.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies made contact with a female and two minors. It was determined that Muñiz had hit a curbside with her vehicle.

Upon closer inspection, the Deputies noticed the female had blood shot eyes and a slurred speech.

Muñiz then admitted to the Deputies that she had been drinking alcohol before she got behind the wheel of her vehicle.

The deputies proceeded to arrest
Muñiz who is now being charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment.
