Male Subject led Maverick County Sheriff’s Deputies on high speed chase

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that a male individual identified as 33 year old
Gerardo Rebulloza was arrested after he led law enforcement officers on a high speed chase.

Schmerber stated that the pursuit started when the Eagle Pass Police Department and U.S Border Patrol attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle along Rio Rd at approximately 2:00 am.

The vehicle a late model Chevrolet Impala did not heed orders and attempted to evade detention.

The pursuit ended up on Del Rio Blvd and quickly headed out of town.

At this point the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department joined in and pursued the vehicle that was headed towards Kinney County.

Kinney County law enforcement agents joined in and set up spike strips at their County line.

The vehicle was eventually stopped after it ran over the spike strips and cane to a halt.

Rebulloza was arrested and is charged with two counts of evading arrest.

He was eventually transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center.
