Social Media influencing actions of Adults and Children during crisis

While the majority of persons in the community are heeding the call to shelter in place and only go out for essential reasons like getting food or going to buy essential home supplies.

There have been reports locally, unfortunately reports are done online on social media and the reliability and validity of those reports is difficult to verify. Nationally there have been reports about a dangerous and disturbing trend to sneeze on food, persons and items then run away.

While the early reports of these actions were reported being done by persons under 18 there was a case that was reported done by an adult to a store employee.

National reports are of those actions being done by persons under 18 and uploaded to Social Media platforms like SnapChat or TikTok.

The national anxiety is keeping everyone on edge however we should not add to that anxiety with succuming to hysteria and downright idiocy during these difficult times.
