One Confirmed case of COVID-19 in Maverick County

The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting that as of March 21 there is one confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Maverick County.

Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes and Maverick County Judge David Saucedo held a press conference to announce the positive test result on Saturday evening.

Mayor Sifuentes did advise the community that medical professionals did have at least two places where the individual had been prior to being tested.

Those two places were Restaurant El Rincon de Veronica on Wednesday morning between 7:30 am and 11:30 am and HEB on Thursday between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.

The community is asked to be weary of the current situation and consult with medical professionals if you believe you are at risk.

HIPPA regulations do not allow for disclosure of personal patient information.

Community residents are asked to follow all restrictions and advisories to help in prevention efforts.

Citizens are advised to:

  • If you have traveled to hot zones (in Texas, the US or out of Country) you NEED to Self Quarantine immediately.
  • If you present symptoms, DO NOT go to the ER or Drs. Office, call first and advise.
  • Practice Social Distancing and remember to stay at minimum 6 feet from anyone else.
  • Wash your hands frequently and use Hand Sanitizer if needed.
