Health Care Professionals advise Prevention and Precaution, not Panic over Coronavirus

Informate was in contact with several local Health Care Professionals and gathered information regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Health Care Professionals agreed that there is NO reason to panic about the issue as no cases have been reported in Maverick County or Eagle Pass. However, they all agree that precaution and prevention is key.

One Health Care Professional stated that, “First and foremost, we must wash our hand. This prevention technique is the most simple but it is the one that can protect you.”

Another Health Care Professional stated that, “If you are over 65, and/or have a weakened immune system, do NOT go to locations that have crowds or may be filled with persons from out of town. We in our community do not have any cases reported, but interaction or travel with persons in affected areas should be avoided as to not assist in spreading any pathogen.”

They continued, “If you do travel to ‘Hot Zones’ self quarantine and advise Health Care Professionals immediately to minimize the impact to local community.”

“Lastly, go to the WHO website, CDC website, or the Texas Department of Health website for information on prevention and ways you can protect others. Above all stay calm but stay safe and protected.”
