First case of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) detected in Mexican State of Coahuila

According to the Govornor of Coahuila, Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, who along with the Coahuila Health Department announced in a press conference that the first case of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has been verified in Torreon, Coauila.

The apparent case was announced that a 20 year old female tested positive for COVID-19. Health officials announced that the subject traveled to Italy on vacation. Health officials are now searching for other travelers on the plane to conduct screenings for the virus or if the travelers are presenting symptoms.

Texas has a total of 11 Covid-19 cases of which 6 are in San Antonio quarantined on Joint-Base Lackland.

If anyone presents:

· Fever

· Cough

· Shortness of breath

Seek medical advice if you have traveled to any country where COVID-19 is prevalent in the past 14 days and feel sick. Call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room. Tell them about your recent travel and your symptoms.

Simple prevention techniques are:

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

· Stay home when you are sick.

· Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
