First day of Municipal Election sees rise in turnout

The first day of early voting for the City of Eagle Pass Special Election has come and gone.

During the first day there were approximately 402 votes cast.

Wednesday’s 402 votes represent 22% of the entire vote count in the 2017 election which ended with 1,891 votes cast.

If this type of voter interest continues, it’s expected that the vote totals for this Special Election will be one of the most participated city run elections in recent history.
