The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department has reported that a male Individual identified as Jose Armando Ramirez was murdered on Sunday, January 12.
Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that on Sunday, January 12. 2020 at approximately 10:03 pm Maverick County patrol units responded to Rosita Valley Road regarding a possible shooting.
Sheriff Schmerber reported that on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at approximately 10:03 pm Maverick County Sheriff deputies responded to Rosita Valley Road and FM
1021 in reference to a male subject who shot another male subject.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed two pick-up trucks
and a male subject on the ground and another using a cell phone.
A deputy quickly detained the male subject who was using a cell
phone, and he was placed in a patrol unit for safety purposes.
The Male subject identified as Luis Ramon Miranda Jr. (suspect) was later transported to the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department for investigation purposes.
Deputies secured the scene where Criminal Investigation Divisionn, Emergency Medical Services,
Justice of the Peace and Memorial Funeral Services were summoned to the scene.
EMS arrived at scene where Deputies were advised that the male subject (victim) identified as Jose Armando Ramirez was
Justice of the Peace from Precinct 3 arrived at scene and pronounced the male individual deceased at 10:50 pm.
The Maverick County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Division arrived by location and processed the scene.
Memorial Funeral Services later took possession of the deceased body.
Balde’s Wrecker Service was also summoned on scene where a 2017, Dodge, Ram, 1500 and a 2003, GMS, Sierra was inventoried and impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office for investigation purposes.
The case remains under investigation.
