An 18-year-old subject who was wanted by Florida authorities on multiple arrest warrants for crimes committed in 2018 was arrested in Eagle Pass over the weekend.
The subject identified as 18 year old Sebastian Martinez was detained at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry No. 2 on Saturday, November 2 when he attempted to come into the country.
Martinez was found to be wanted out of Highlands County Florida on two criminal counts of attempted homicide and one count of robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A probation violation charge will also be added, authorities say. Officials said Sebastian was arrested for having a concealed weapon when he was 15 years old.
Reports out of Florida, state that Martinez along with two other subjects were allegedly involved in a series of crimes Including shooting and injuring two male victims back in December 2018.
Law enforcement believe the incident was related to an illegal drug deal.
Martinez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center where he will wait to be extradited back to Florida to face his criminal charges.
