Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu met behind closed doors on Tuesday, June 4m 2919 at City Hall and reached an agreement regarding service costs between Maverick County and the City of Eagle Pass.
The inter-local agreement between both entities for fire protection and ambulance services entails a minor increase in maintenance costs and costs of living, but the cost will not be near the million dollars previously discussed.
The increase will not affect taxpayers, and there will be no cost increases on waste management or ambulance services.
Judge Saucedo congratulated Mayor Cantu for the agreement, which will be mutually beneficial to the county and the city, and most importantly to the citizens of the community.
Judge Saucedo attributed the agreement to great communication and collaboration between the county commissioners and city officers.
The proposed agreement will be presented at the next County Commissioners’ Court meeting, where it will be signed and approved.
