Fifteen year old detained for curfew violation

The Eagle Pass Police Department detained a 15-year-old male juvenile for curfew violations and attempted escape at around 3:37 a.m. on Friday, August 3.

Eagle Pass Police Department Public Information officer Humberto Garza stated that patrolling officers responded to the 2100 block Pershing Circle in reference to two suspicious subjects.

Responding officers searched the area and encountered a 15 -year – old male subject is in possession of two backpacks containing assorted electric items.

The male juvenile was taken into custody for curfew violation and transported to the police department.

During the course of the juvenile’s detention at the police department, he made an attempt to escape from custody out the front doors of City Hall crossing Monroe Street before he was captured and again taken into custody to face new charges of escape.

The investigation into the backpacks and the items contained within led officers to a residence within the 2000 block of Lindburgh Circle.

“Officers spoke with the resident and complainant who reported that two backpacks were taken from his Dodge pickup truck.The male juvenile was also charged with burglary of a vehicle. This case remains under investigation,” said officer Garza.
