The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department arrested a male individual on Monday, July 23 for Aggravated Assault and Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.
Sheriff reports state that Deputies were summoned to the 3100 block of Venesa Street early in the morning of that day regarding an assault complaint.
Sheriff deputies made contact was made with a female complainant who alleged that a known male subject had physically assaulted her and also pulled out a knife in the middle of the assault.
The female complainant identified the subject as 28-year-old Jesus Rodolfo Amezcua (DOB 11/18/1989).
Deputies made contact with the male subject and he was initially detained due to his aggressive behavior before being charged with aggravated assault.
Deputies proceeded to search Amezcua and he was found in possession of marijuana. Deputies later determined that the marijuana found in the subject’s possession was under two ounces.
The male subject was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
An individual accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
