Illicit activities continue being discovered in Eagle Pass, Texas. On Sunday, July, 15 United States Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 57 immigration checkpoint in Maverick County arrested an 18-year-old woman from Eagle Pass after discovering methamphetamine’s and black tar heroin in a vehicle she was driving.
Border Patrol agents conducting checkpoint duties discovered 10 plastic bags containing crystal methamphetamine weighing 11.56 pounds and two plastic containers with black tar heroin weighing 5.12 pounds hidden in a 2008 silver “Kia” the woman was driving.
The woman and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
“Border Patrol agents are committed to keeping dangerous drugs from entering our communities,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Felix Chavez. “Our agents continue doing a remarkable job everyday intercepting narcotic smuggling attempts.”
