Emergency Crews respond to emergency call of knife wound to the abdomen

The Maverick County Sheriff and the Eagle Pass Fire Department’s responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call on Wednesday, June 20 regarding a male adult with a wound to the abdomen area.

EMS and Sheriff deputies responded to the scene located on Juanita Drive in the Siesta Acres area and made contact with 31- year- old Luis Cedillo who was bleeding from the abdomen area.

EMS personnel proceeded to assist the individual and then transported him to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center emergency room for further treatment.

Information provided by law enforcement states that Mr. Cedillo notified them that he had fallen while carrying the knife and accidentally impaled himself on the sharp object.

The Maverick County Sheriff Department is investigating if the wound was self-inflicted or perpetrated by another person.

Cedillo was transported to a San Antonio hospital with a punctured lung.
