At approximatly 4am on Monday, June 10, crews of the Rio Grande Electric Coop responded to power outages along southern Maverick County. After various hours searching for the issue crews informed that a group of snakes entered the Rosita Creek substation and fried the arresters. The RGEC crews stated that at about 10:45 power was restored and they were still making repairs as of 11:30am.
The RGEC issued a statement, “We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have not reported your outage please give us a call at 1-800-749-1509 and have your meter number available.”
