Early Voting for the Primary Run-Off gets extended hours

Under the Texas Election Code 85.005, the authority conducting the election (Early Voting), shall conduct the election, “in accordance with this subsection in those elections in a county with a population under 100,000 on receipt by the early voting clerk of a written request for the extended hours submitted by at least 15 registered voters of the county. The request must be submitted in time to enable compliance with Section 85.067.”

Therefore, upon receiving a written request by a candidate or voters, the Election Administrator extended the hours for the Primary Run-off Early Vote from 8am – 5pm to 7am – 7pm for the entire early voting period (May 14 – May 18).

Once again, we remind all voters that Early Voting for the Primary Run-off is May 14 – May 18 from 7am – 7pm at the Multipurpose Center.

Any questions on the matter or elections issues, please contact Democratic Party Chair Luis Alfonso Ruiz or Elections Administrator Roy Schmerber.
