Valles declared that he had accidentally shot himself when he was looking at a gun that someone was offering to him for sale.

Valles did not know the gun was loaded and it fired one round hitting him in the knee area.

Valles was taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room to receive treatment for his gun shot wound. Luckily the wound was not severe.

Maverick County Head Detective Efrain Valdez states that the incident is under investigation and that verification of the history of the firearm is being conducted to determine if it’s not stolen
