Anna Karina De La Garza through her attorney filed an answer of general denial as per rule 92 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedures in the 293rd Judicial District Court.
De La Garza was recently sued by the Nevarez Law Group PC. on behalf of Isabel Velasquez Perez and her daughter Vanessa Velasquez a Minor in the 293rd Judicial District Court.
One will recall that 17-year-old Vanessa Velasquez was impacted by a 2017 Grand Cherokee Jeep driven by De La Garza on January 6 at around 10:30 pm on Garrison St while attempting to cross the street.
The EPPD officially stated that at least 3 vehicles impacted Velasquez causing life threatening injuries.
De La Garza’s attorney Scott P. Jones of the Law Firm Brock Person Guerra Reyna, P.C. filed the legal paperwork with the Maverick County District Clerks office. “Now comes Anna Karina De La Garza defendant in the above-entitled and numbered cause, and files this original answer replying to the plaintiff’s original petition. Pursuant to rule 92 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Defendant enters a general denial and demands that the plaintiffs prove their allegations by a preponderance of the evidence.”
Velasquez has been moved to a long-term care facility where she is expected to spend up to 12 months recuperating from her severe injuries through therapy and other medical care.
