Eagle Pass Police officers responded to a radio call from a constable working a security detail at a business on South Texas Drive at around 2:01 am on Saturday February 3.
During the course of the incident officers attempted to stop an orange colored Chevrolet HHR after the driver was alleged to have been involved in an altercation where a fire arm was allegedly brandished.
The vehicle led officers on a brief pursuit North on Bibb Street and ended within the 2300 block on Edna Drive.
The driver was arrested after the pursuit and discovered to be in possession of eight plastic baggies which contained a white powdery substance confirmed to be cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 37 year old Cesar Sanchez. Sanchez was transported to the Eagle Pass Police Department where he was later presented before a magistrate and formally charged with possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and detention with a vehicle and possession of a weapon where prohibited.
Sanchez was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined 24,000 Bond.
