Car accidents continue being a big problem in Maverick County with hundreds of accidents occurring on a monthly basis. These accidents often lead to no other recourse than legal intervention by hired attorneys to recuperate the damages and compensation from those accidents for the clients that hire them.
For example during a five day period from Wednesday November 22 to Monday November 27, the Eagle Pass Police Department responded to a total of 21 motor vehicle accidents including 8 hit and run incidents. Monthly reports from the Eagle Pass Police Department from September 28 to October 25, 2017 show there were 122 motor vehicle accidents with 17 hit and run accidents averaging to approximately 4 accidents per day.
During this time period motor vehicle accidents was among the top incidents reported and attended to by EPPD. A review of the Maverick County District Clerks case files shows that from October 1 to November 22,.2017 there have been 46 Personal Injury Auto Law suits filed in both the 293rd and 365th Judicial District Court.
Texas Department of Public Safety yearly crash reports show that in 2016 there were 705 crashes reported in Eagle Pass with one fatality. Maverick County reported 795 crashes for a combined total of 1,500 car accidents reported in one year or 4 car crashes per day for 365 days straight. Law enforcement officials ask the community to be careful when getting behind the wheel.
