The Maverick County Sheriff Department responded to a report of possible gun shots being fired in the Seco Mines area of the community this weekend. Sheriff Deputies were summoned to Rodriguez St. in which they found a group of teens at a home where supposedly gun shots had been fired at.
The group of teens were questioned and they denied taking part in any illegal activity. Deputies asked for permission from the homeowner to enter the property and search for any weapons or evidence of the reported wrong doing. Deputies however did not find any weapons but were able to recover numerous bullet casings from the property. Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber did state that no one was detained in regards to this incident.
This type of situation is a very serious issue and any type of action such as the misuse of a weapon should come with consequences.
