High Water Rescue Training for EPFD Employees

Eagle Pass Fire Department Chief Manuel Mello has announced that 12 elements from the from the EPFD will begin a high water training course which will be provided by the United States Border Patrol and their Water rescue units.

The 12 firefighters have been going through orientation and will be traveling to New Braunfels, Texas where they will continue their training on a hands on course in the Guadalupe River area.

This type of training is vital due to the increased flooding within our community and also the fact that often the Fire Department responds to water rescues and also the recovery of bodies from within the Rio Grande River.
