H-E-B responded to the impact of hurricane Harvey by mounting a disaster relief convoy (Disaster Relief Units) that are currently in the Gulf coast area assisting in helping victims of this catastrophic natural disaster. H-E-B (Helps-Every-Body) Texas’ largest grocery chain sent out their relief team with an arsenal of over sixteen 18 wheeler vehicles with water, fuel tankers, portable generators, emergency grocery supplies and equipment and two mobile kitchens that already have served over 10,000 meals.
The food preparation facilities will be serving hot meals to first responders and storm victims. The Disaster Relief Units are also ready and equipped to provide medication/ prescriptions and other services including mobile business services for changing checks or paying bills. The unit counts with an H‑E‑B Pharmacy and mobile Business Services unit.
H-E-B also has sent out 100 employee volunteers to assist the victims of the devastating storm. “Providing aid in times of need is the cornerstone of H E B’s Helping Here philosophy, which promises to stand by communities during times of crisis.

The convoy was first dispatched to Victoria, Texas and will continue assisting throughout the affected areas.
