Eagle Pass City Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu attended the 85th Annual United States Conference of Mayors in Miami Beach Florida from June 23-26, 2017. The conference was being presided over by Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and was being hosted by Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine.
Mayor Cantu was out representing our community and is seeking further knowledge on topics such as Federal Legislation, Grant Funding for community development opportunities and other important subjects that are vital in a governing agency’s fiscal year.

Important topics from Federal legislation, Grant funding and community development opportunities to name a few are all part of that day’s discussions. Mayor Cantu participated in three days of committee meetings, task force meetings, workshops including a conference by the International Association of FireFighters (IAFF) FIRE OPS, Orientation for New Mayors members, Mayors Water Council conference, Council on Metro Economies and the New American City, The Future of Retail Development, Energy Independence and Climate Protection Task Force and The Need for Infrastructure Investment were among the many conferences during the 3-day event.
