Eagle Pass Sales Tax Revenues while slowly increasing, still below expectations

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has reported the total numbers of funds collected and disbursed to the City of Eagle Pass for the sales and use tax during the month of May 2017 has seen a minimal increase as compared prior year period.

The City of Eagle Pass Sales tax net payment through the May period was reported at $358,169.21 and the Comparable Payment Prior Year was recorded at $340,290.83 or a 5.25 % positive change for the month of May 2017.

The Comptroller’s office reports show that year to date $ 2,415,620.24 have been disbursed to Eagle Pass in 2017. The prior year total at this point was reported at $2,506,570.95. Up to date there has been a negative 3.62% or $90,950.71 less in sales tax revenues disbursed to the City of Eagle Pass during 2017 as compared to 2016.
